Your Business has Gone Mobile

Fact: Mobile is one of the fastest-growing platforms in the world.
1 in 3 U.S. mobile subscribers browse the internet on their phone on a regular basis, and by the end of the year, analysts predict that 1 in 8 of all e-commerce transactions will happen from a mobile.
According to Google, there will be more mobile web traffic traffic than fixed (laptop/desktop) by 2013. (60 Second Marketer)
To be honest, you dont need any stats, you only have to look around at people on the bus, the train, the doctors waiting room, the pub, the restaurant, nearly everyone is on a mobile.
What are people looking at? It’s probably social…
“Social media accounts for one out of every six minutes spent online in US.” (Journalism.co.uk)
“Twitter penetration rates in Canada are among the highest in the world, according to new data from online tracking firm comScore Inc., which suggests that nearly one in five Canadian Internet users over the age of 15 regularly visit Twitter.” (via Financial Post)
Between Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, there’s a massive potential audience, and that audience has a massive appetite for content. They want to see things that they can talk about, share, comment on, like, dislike, laugh at or recommend.
What do we recommend to the hungry brands we work with?
“Recent estimates put less than 10% of the population using Twitter, far less than other social sites.” (Advertising Age) “Facebook has three times as many accounts as Twitter, and 20 percent of Twitter’s users produce at least 80 percent of the site’s content.” (Problogger)
“33% of Facebook posting is mobile.” (Dan Zarella)
Your focus right now should be Facebook and creating content that can be easily passed around by mobile users. Post pictures and videos to keep the viewer engaged and on your page for longer. Ask questions. Spark conversations. Create a mid term strategy to build your fans by giving them things they want to interact with on your page.
