Video Colour Grading
An investment in colour correction and grading technology means that iceni now offers cutting edge photo manipulation software / hardware for moving images to our clients. Our experienced colourists can produce some truly stunning results, transforming the sometimes harsh, flat look of video into softer, high contrast images.
Of course, colour treatment is no replacement for the skills of an experienced Director and broadcast cameraman, but it allows the post production team to create some complicated lens effects that would traditionally require taking expensive film kit on location, and considerable time to set up. Film cameras record images by light hitting silver crystals, while video cameras capture images with CCDs (digital chips), resulting in different image quality, colour interpretation, and tone. While video is tonally different to film, we can manipulate video footage to create striking images without the expense of shooting with film.
The Director may decide to give different sections of your programme different colour temperatures or tone, creating a gritty documentary, a dream sequence, we can even make day into night. It may be that a simple diffusion needs to be added to the footage for a glossy effect. Creative use of colour and tone can further increase the impact of your programme and make your visual communications stand out.
