Double Awards Joy for Midlands Innovators
A Midlands communications company is jetting off to Hollywood after beating agencies in more than 25 countries to two prestigious film awards.
iceni Productions of Lichfield scooped a 'Certificate for Creative Excellence' and a 'Silver Screen' award in corporate communications categories from the 2006 International Film and Video Festival for projects with two international companies.
Its work with home sales company, Kleeneze, produced a promotional film designed to recruit more distributors. Judges chose the DVD for the creative excellence certificate after being impressed by its effectiveness in achieving its purpose. They commended iceni's creativity in the writing, visuals, sound and editing.
The silver screen award rewarded iceni's work with First Group, who have transformed the northern Transpennine Express train service with a £200million investment. The resulting 'movie trailer' for rail bosses and staff was highly praised for its use of contemporary techniques and outstanding approach and creativity.
A spokesperson from the film festival said: “Productions were rated on their overall presentation and creative approach to the projects.
“iceni's films demonstrated superior work in both aspects. They used creativity effectively while retaining a clear message which achieved their aims for the target audiences.”
Andi Jepson, company director at iceni, said: “Results are key to any communications project.
“Our company's focus on results has already made iceni a leader in the UK visual communications industry.
“This recognition from one of the leading business communications festivals now demonstrates the effectiveness of our work on a world stage.”
The awards ceremony, to be held at West Hollywood Bel Age in June, will be attended by high-flyers in broadcasting and corporate entertainment from across the globe.
