the brief:
Every year, Kleeneze organise an International conference to reward its top distributors. They needed a video to announce Sydney as the new destination and to motivate distributors throughout 2004 to work towards qualifying for the trip.
the shoot:
We travelled with the company directors on their inspection trip to Sydney and, as they selected and confirmed venues for the trip, we filmed them. This style of working required a fluid script - often rewriting it as we filmed to suit the chosen venue or activity.
the edit:
To build the excitement of the announcement at the conference, the video commences with several clues to the destination, to allow the conference delegates the chance to guess. Then, once the destination is announced, there is a musical montage celebrating Sydney before the directors gave any more information, to allow for some applause.
As England had just won the Rugby World Cup in Sydney, a shot of that winning kick by Johnny Wilkinson just had to be included! iceni sourced this footage on behalf of Kleeneze as well as some footage from the Australian Tourist Board.
We used cool indie rock music to suit the destination and accompany shots of Sydney Harbour and surfers on Bondi Beach.

The video was played to over 6000 Kleeneze distributors at the National Indoor Arena, and, as predicted, the crowd went wild!
