Global Warming
client:
Warmup PLC
project:
Promotional and product installation multi-language DVD
the brief:
Warmup PLC approached iceni to create a multi-language promotional and training DVD project for its flagship product - under-tile heating.
The hugely successful heating system was undergoing a rebrand and Warmup needed a promotional video to explain the new features of the product to the public. The client also wanted a detailed demonstration of the product to accompany the installation manual.
creative strategy:
The project required a studio shoot, repurposing and re-editing existing promotional footage, and authoring multi-language PAL and NTSC DVDs for distribution in Europe and the US.
For the installation video we began in the studio, building a bathroom set to demonstrate a complete installation from preparation to tiling. Drawing from the new brand, we created animated graphics to further demonstrate the process.
The client already had a promotional video which needed updating. From the existing programme, iceni cut a short, colourful and snappy introduction to the product featuring testimonial interviews with Television Presenter Simon Biagi, and a warming voiceover from Rebecca Jensen.
the DVD:
With both US and UK versions of the programmes approved, iceni translated the scripts and provided voiceovers in Portuguese, French, German, Greek, Spanish and US Latin Spanish. For every language version of the programme, the integral graphics were translated, checked and recreated.
We designed and authored a multi-language DVD with every language version on a single disc. The menus and navigation were kept clean and simple, with all text translated to allow viewers to quickly access the programme in their own language.
As well as producing the DVD, iceni supplied the new promotional programme for touchscreen kiosk, and the project has been shown at home improvement exhibitions as far afield as Las Vegas.
The finished programmes have been encoded for delivery on the clients website, and mass produced on DVD as a promotional give away at DIY superstores across Europe.
