Flying Down to Rio

Samba and caipiriniahs were the order of the day as iceni jetted off to Rio de Janeiro to film Kleeneze's 2006 International Destination incentive travel video.
the brief:
Kleeneze wanted to create the maximum buzz among its sales teams for this fantastic incentive travel event in 2006 - the much anticipated announcement of which provokes a lot of speculation amongst distributors about the chosen destination.
the creative solution:
iceni proposed a launch video to be premiered at the Kleeneze Conference at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham in front of an audience of 8000 distributors.
Rather than using stock footage of the destination - which is expensive and often out of date - a small team from iceni accompanied Kleeneze's Directors on their inspection trip and worked with them to produce a video travelogue, presented by the CEO himself.
Our solution proved cheaper and much more effective than purchasing stock footage and recording a voice over: the audience saw their management as professional presenters introducing some of the fabulous sights and sounds of Rio de Janeiro. The video was a personal invitation from the CEO to join him at the Copacabana Palace in 2006.
When a programme is presented by someone you know and have met, the incentive seems much more achievable. This approach was justified by increased sales and palpable excitement about the event.
The crew filmed sections of the video at the same time as the company directors conducted their inspection trip, to decide which venues to take the delegates. This meant that the script had to be revised at almost every location, but our crew have both the focus and experience necessary to produce an engaging and entertaining programme.
The highlight of the programme is a shot of the CEO, standing in front of the Christ the Redeemer Statue. This is the part of the programme dubbed 'the big reveal'. As the destination is announced, to cheers from the audience, the camera pulls out to a shot filmed from a circling helicopter.
Rio is a truly beautiful city and we had no difficulty finding stunning scenery to film. Along with the aerial shots of the city and the statue of Christ the Redeemer, the crew filmed views of Sugar Loaf Mountain, and the famous Copacabana beach. We even managed to make a little time to sample the local nightlife and film a demonstration of how to make the perfect caipiriniah!
Back at the studio the design team produce title sequences and stings to compliment Kleeneze's logo designs. Working alongside the marketing department, we ensured a consistent style was adhered to for the DVD menu, titles, transitions, print and packaging and online micro site.
