When you decide to invest in corporate video, you want to make sure that as many people see it as possible. With video streaming you can reach a much wider audience, allowing visitors to your website access to your programme 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
the brief:
Bromford Housing Group were so pleased with the two videos iceni had produced for them that they decided they should be accessible for all to see from their website.
hosting:
We created a video page which appears on the Bromford website, this video page is actually hosted on the iceni Windows© Media streaming server to ensure maximum compatibility and viewing quality.
Working alongside the client's web designer, and utilising their style sheet our design team ensured that the video pages look exactly the same as the rest of the site.
The iceni server has several advantages over a standard business server:
* A streaming server allows multiple users to watch the same video at once.
* Files from a streaming server are 'multistreamed'. This means that you don't have to rely on the end user to select the right video file, Windows© technology automatically detects the speed of the visitor's web connection and plays the video at the best possible quality.
* Using the iceni server guarantees that the links will work as expected after testing.
* Operating a Windows© Media Server has a licence cost which is mitigated by iceni hosting many clients' projects under one license.
iceni streaming package:
iceni streaming charges are based on the amount of space the video files will take up on the server, and the number of times the videos are viewed.
Of course, it's difficult to predict how many visitors will watch your video and so we offer a scalable cost for space on the streaming server - rather like a mobile phone tariff. This means that to begin with, customers pay an agreed amount each month for the service, based on estimates of current web traffic and 'hits' on your website.
If more visitors than expected watch your video, exceeding the estimated monthly bandwidth, iceni will automatically offer you the option of upgrading to the next package with no penalties!
There are no hidden fees for using more than your monthly allowance and no risk of paying upfront for a large amount of space and not receiving the expected traffic.
